APPLYING FOR LEGAL AID: Persons wishing to apply for Legal Aid should first visit the Legal Aid Office to collect an application. Applicants will be asked to state the nature of the matter they are applying for, and will be questioned in respect to their household income, including income details of anyone such as spouse, partner, parent or adult child who lived with the applicant over the last twelve months preceding the application.

 

APPLICANTS RESPONSIBILITY: Applicants have a duty to provide all relevant financial information when submitting their applications for consideration by the Legal Aid Committee. Should any applicant knowingly withhold or give wrong information, that applicant commits an offence under the Legal Aid Act 1980 and upon conviction can be imprisoned for six months or fined $1, 500.00
