Application opens on 5 August of each year with a deadline to receive applications on 5 November of the same year. Successful applicants are announced in June of the following year. If you are among them, you will begin your UK studies in September/October of that same year. i.e (applications open 5 August 2022, deadline 5 November 2022 for Sept/Oct 2022 studies)

 

 

British Chevening Scholarship Programme. Government House is keen to encourage more applications from Bermudians to undertake Masters’ level degree study in the UK. The Chevening Scholarships are global scholarship programme of the British Government, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth office (FCO) and partner organisations. The scholarships offer the opportunity to study for a one year Masters' degree at the most prestigious universities in the UK.  Key focus areas of study include:

 

 

  • Human Rights, democracy and good governance
  • Law
  • Economic and financial Management
  • Public Administration & Local Governance
  • Health
  • Education
  • Media
  • Aviation &  Maritime Protection and Security
  • Environment & Economies of low carbon and energy

The programme provides a unique opportunity for outstanding individuals with leadership potential to build a global network of continuing professional significance, and also to establish social, academic or commercial partnerships with the UK. In recent years, the FCO has announced a significant increase in investment in the Chevening Scholarship Programme. We are, therefore, pleased to be able to offer more scholarships to suitable applicants from around the world, including here in Bermuda. In light of this expansion, we are exploring all the possibilities that can be used to increase knowledge about the programme and the numbers of resulting applications.

 

The applications round for Chevening Scholarships normally run from August to November for Scholarship to start the following year. All applications for Chevening scholarships must be submitted online at www.chevening.org. Candidates should read the online orientation and demonstrate how they meet the selection criteria of the Chevening Programme before submitting applications.
